The mold temperature controller is an auxiliary device specifically used to control mold temperature. By heating or cooling a fluid medium (such as water or heat transfer oil), it achieves precise temperature control of the mold, thereby ensuring production efficiency and product quality. Its core function is to continuously adjust the mold's temperature through a circulation system to maintain temperature stability.

Composition and Working Principle of the Mold Temperature Controller

The mold temperature controller is mainly composed of a heating module, power module, and control system:

1.Heating module: Increases the temperature of the fluid medium.

2.Power module: Typically in the form of a pump, it circulates the heated or cooled fluid medium to the mold, forming a closed-loop system.

3.Control system (PLC program): Collects temperature, pressure, and other data through sensors, then adjusts and controls the temperature, pressure, and flow rate of the fluid in real time to achieve precise temperature control.

When the mold temperature controller is started, the power module fills the pipes and mold with water or heat transfer oil. The sensors monitor the temperature and pressure of the fluid in real time and transmit this data to the control system, allowing the PLC program to adjust the temperature as needed to meet production requirements.

Working principle of the oil-type mold temperature controller:

1.Electric energy is converted into thermal energy through an electric heater.

2.The heat transfer medium is thermal oil, which circulates within the system under the action of a high-temperature circulating oil pump.

3.The thermal oil flows through the pipes of equipment such as molds, rollers, and presses, continuously heating and transferring heat.

4.The oil temperature gradually rises until it reaches the temperature required by the production process.

This method is suitable for processes that require higher temperatures, as thermal oil provides good thermal stability and effective heat transfer at high temperatures.

Working principle of the water-type mold temperature controller:

1.A circulating water pump transports hot fluid (water) from a unit equipped with a built-in heater and cooling device to a temperature control device.

2.After passing through the heat-using equipment, the hot fluid returns to the water-type mold temperature controller, where it is reheated or cooled by adding cooling water.

3.A temperature sensor monitors and transmits data to the control panel, allowing the controller to adjust the water temperature directly.

4.The water-type mold temperature controller is suitable for low-temperature processes. Water, as the heat transfer medium, offers rapid cooling and low cost.

Main Uses of Mold Temperature Controllers

Mold temperature controllers are widely used in many industries, with common applications as follows:

1.Injection molding: Controls the stability of the injection mold's temperature, improving the molding quality and production efficiency of plastic products.

2.Blow molding: Regulates the temperature of the blow molding machine runner and preform to ensure the quality of the blow-molded product.

3.Rubber molding: During the molding process of rubber products, it adjusts the temperature difference between the mold and the rubber to ensure surface finish and dimensional accuracy.

4.Metal casting: Maintains the temperature difference between the mold and molten metal during the casting process to optimize casting quality.

The Role of the Mold Temperature Controller

The primary function of the mold temperature controller is heating and maintaining a constant temperature. Initially used for mold temperature control, it has since been applied to reactors, rollers, press plates, and other equipment to optimize product molding through precise temperature regulation.Controlling mold temperature reduces the flow resistance of resin material, improves product filling, decreases internal stress, and enhances the surface finish and dimensional accuracy of molded products.

The mold temperature controller's high-precision temperature control capabilities are of great significance for improving the quality and efficiency of molding and processing in industries such as plastics, rubber, and metals.
